Hello everybody in the year 2024! Thanks to the continuous support of people buying my comics, I'm able to create content for the fifth year! So thanks so much everybody!
So - first order of business: the upcoming comic. If you missed my newsletters, here is a quick rundown:
I wrote the "Joanne's Last Cigarette" short novel (CLICK - read in Google Docs) and the new comic will be based on this story. Scroll down this post to see some pre-production pics.
Also, a minor change is going to be implemented into my work: I won't use any series prefixes in my comics anymore. So no "One-Offs", no "Comic & Art Packs", and so on. Every comic will be a self-contained, stand-alone story, named just with its main title. I realized I'm not good enough in writing yet to create big worlds with long lasting plots. My previous Dolcett Academy attempts were okay-ish, but it's still not the narration level I'm aiming for. So baby steps, I guess. Short stories/novels first, and maybe, some time in the future I'd be skilled enough in world building and leading the narrative to write something bigger. Also, I'm going back to the 16:9 aspect ratio (so fullscreen pages), this time for good. I realized this is the most universal format, both for computer displays, and for mobile devices.
On to some other news: I will try to keep the new comic format (writing a novel first, and then making the comic) as I had lots of fun doing so. I'm also opting for a slight increase in quality, like using physics simulated hair and clothing (if possible). This means less characters on scene, as simulated objects like hair consume a lot of VRAM in the GPU.
I also made some minor changes to the e-store page - it should load a bit quicker now, and the comics and sets are in separate categories now.
